Israel and Greece sign €3 billion “Achilles Shield” defence deal

Israel and Greece signed a €3 billion defence export agreement on August 31, 2026, under which Israel will construct a multi-layered air defence system for Greece. The agreement, named “Achilles Shield”, was signed by Israel’s Defense Ministry Director General Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram and Greece’s Defense Ministry Director General Ioannis Bouras.
